Configure Work Units
How to configure work units for Healthcare Productivity.
Configure work units (WU) to define departments, work groups, and combine business structure nodes or jobs into single entities for productivity analysis. All Healthcare Productivity reports require work units.
Organizations need a way to group work at a level to measure productivity. The work unit allows you to specify the unit to measure, and whether to roll up the units into a hierarchy. The integrations map the billing (volume) and payroll departments to work units, and map the work units to the business structure locations.
Example: An organization can have multiple cost centers that book labor within a department, but the organization needs to measure productivity at the department level.
Before you start
- Configure the Function Access Profile (FAP) to give Manager—System Configuration access to Application Setup > KPI Builder > Healthcare Productivity> Work Unit Definition & Labor Mapping in Application Setup. See Configure Access to Healthcare Productivity .
- Configure Hours of Operation for the location to define the days of operation for the work units at the locations.

Type s of work unit:Caution: Once you assign the work unit to locations, you cannot change the type.

To get payroll data for jobs at these multiple locations, associate each of these locations to a Combination work unit type.
Example: Associate the Radiology/CTScan job to a Radiology01 combination type, the Radiology/MRI job to a Radiology02 combination type, and the Radiology/Ultrasound job to a Radiology03 combination type.
