Access Profiles

How determine to the components that users can access and the types of functions that users can perform.

Access profiles determine the components that users can access and the types of functions that users can perform within the system. For example, access profiles can include permission to edit schedules and timecards. The same profile can be assigned to a group of similar users, such as managers in the same department.

You can define several types of access profiles:

  • Logon profiles — Logon Profiles provide access to all components, and define settings for user passwords, restrictions on user sessions, and system access through the Mobile App. Assign Logon Profiles on the Information page in People information.
  • Function access profiles — Function access profiles define the access rights that users have to components or functions. Managers and employees who have different functions need different Function Access Profiles.

Function Access Profiles contain permissions to points in a hierarchy of functions, including general options, such as timecard and schedule, or to individual options, such as birth dates or wage rates

Assign Function Access Profiles on the Access Profiles page in People information.

  • Generic Data Access Profiles — Generic Data Access Profiles, which can only be assigned to managers, control access to component data, such as accruals, data integration, and pay policies. For example, an organization with users in numerous locations can limit the accruals or pay policies data that managers in each locale can access.

Assign Generic Data Access Profile on the Access Profiles page in People information.

  • Data Access Profiles — Data Access Profiles specify the information that is available to a user or group of users:

You can associate Data Access Profiles with employees in People Information.
