Hours of Operation
The Forecast Planner uses hours of operation.
Forecast Planner needs the hours during which a site or department is open for business when it calculates the traffic pattern and when it creates the labor forecast.
Create hours of operation and assign them to a location at the department level or above on the business structure. You can also create overrides for the hours of operations.
Create regular hours of operation
Regular hours are your business's normal operating hours.
- Select .
- Select the Create Regular Hours tab, and click New.
- Enter a Name and an optional Description.
- To allow stores to edit their hours of operation, including any override, select Unrestricted Edit.

Select the
Day of Week to which the hours of operation apply.Note: : Every Day indicates that the site or department is open every day except the other days listed on the page.
- To indicate that the site or department is closed all day, select Closed.
- Select the Open Time and the Close Time.

To add a new row,
click tap
Add Row
and repeat from step 5. - Click Tap Save and Return.
Configure override hours of operation
You can override hours of operation to account for specific dates when site hours vary from normal hours due to holidays or special events. An hours of operation override can cross the day divide. As in the case of hours of operation, you assign an override to a forecast category and the forecast categories below inherit that same override.
Corporate can create an hours of operation override and deny a store the ability to edit it.
- Select
- Select the Create Override Hours tab, and click New.
- Enter a Name and an optional Description.
- Select Unrestricted Edit to allow stores to edit their hours of operation override.
- In Start Date, enter the date on which the override begins.
- In End Date, enter the date on which the override ends.
- (Optional) Enter a Reason for the override.
- If the store is closed for the override, select Closed.
- If the store is open for the override, enter the Open Time and Close Time.

To create another override,
click tap
Add Row
and repeat from step 5. - Click Tap Save and Return.
Assign hours of operation to the business structure
You can assign an hours of operation or an override to a location at the department level or above.
- Select Administration > Application Setup > Common Setup > Hours of Operation.
- Select the Assign Hours of Operation tab.

On the business structure, select the forecast category to which you are assigning the hours of operation. The forecast category must be at the department level or above.
For the selected category, the current information for the current Forecast Week displays on the right.

In
Regular Hours:
- In
Assign Regular Hours, select the hours of operation set that you want to assign.
If you do not select an hours of operation set, the hours of operation assignment is inherited from the parent location.
Note: Start Date and End Date are disabled when hours of operation is inherited. The fields become active when you select a name from Assign Regular Hours. - Select a Start Date. The Start Date must be the first day of a forecast week. You can backdate or enter a future date as long as the effective date range of the assignment is within the effective date range of the forecast category.
- Select an End Date. The End Date must be the last day of a forecast week.
- In
Assign Regular Hours, select the hours of operation set that you want to assign.

In
Override Hours:
- To assign an override to the hours of operation, select a defined override in Assign Override Hours.
- Click Tap Save.

Repeat from step 3 to assign hours of operation or an override to another site or department.
To see your change on the business structure, make sure that the Forecast Week range of the business structure includes the start date of your assignment.
Delete or inactivate an hours of operation set
You cannot delete hours of operation that are assigned to a site or department; you must unassign them first.
You can inactivate the set to ensure that it cannot be assigned from this point on. Sites that already have the hours of operation that you inactivate are not affected.
Configure hours of operation to display in Schedule Planner
Managers can view the hours of operation per day by location in the Schedule Planner. This enables them to easily verify that employees are scheduled correctly.
After you have configured your hours of operation and assigned them to categories at the department level, you can configure the Schedule Planner so that managers can display the hours of operation from the View Hours of Operation option on the Tools menu.
- Go to Administration > Application Setup > Scheduler Setup > Schedule Planner.

Select a schedule planner and click

In Secondary Schedule Configuration, for the
Show hours of operation option, select how you want to display overridden hours:

Display with override icon— Displays the
Override
icon on the days of the week where overridden hours are present. -
Display without override icon— Does not display the
Override
icon on the days of the week where overridden hours are present.
