Job Alias Assignment

To configure a TeleTime IP Job Alias Assignment, navigate to Configuration > TeleTime IP from the UDM main menu. Click Tap View and then select TeleTime IP Configuration. Click Tap Job Alias Assignment.

An alias is a numeric TeleTime IP code that maps to the name of a job within a job transfer set.

Create aliases for two reasons:

  • To allow telephony employees to enter a job code whose name contains alphabetic characters, because data entry into TeleTime IP must be numeric.
  • To speed up data entry, by assigning short aliases to long, numeric job names. Example: A job code named “30987” in the application is assigned the alias “37” in TeleTime IP.

Assign an alias to a job

To add a job alias:

  1. Select a TeleTime IP Profile from the drop-down list.
  2. Select a Job Transfer Set from the drop-down list. The drop-down list is populated from the Job Transfer Set specified in the selected user profile. (Note that the Download Host Location Sets event must be run to populate Job Transfer Sets.) If the Job Transfer Set in the profile is "<Use User Settings>", the job transfer set includes job transfer sets for all employees who are assigned the selected user profile.

The Alias Assignment grid is displayed. It contains a list of jobs to which you can assign aliases. Edit to add or modify an alias.

A TeleTime IP job alias consists of up to ten digits.

Ensure that the numeric aliases are unique. For example, if more than one job name abbreviation requires the same sequence of numbers, you must change one of the abbreviations so that the numeric alias is unique for each.

Note: Although the TeleTime IP Alias field requires digits, the field is interpreted as a string. As a result, values such as 01 and 001 are both acceptable and unique.
