Initialize Device

Use Initialize Device on the Actions menu of the Dashboard or the Device Details page to initiate a download of device configuration data. You can also schedule initialize events using Event Manager.

The list of download options that is available for the Device Initialize menu item is the same as those configured in the Download Options template in the Device Configuration Profile that is assigned to the device or devices. One additional action that is available for Initialize Device allows you to "clear all employee information" from the device or devices when you also select a download of employee data.

To initialize one or more devices:

  1. Navigate to the device or device groups workspace in the Dashboard and select one or more devices or device groups, or to the Device Details page of an individual device.
  2. Select Actions > Initialize Device.
  3. In the Action Options window, select or deselect any of the options and click tap OK.
