Load Parameter File

Parameter XML files for devices can be customized and imported as needed. For example, you can create an XML file to customize the employee information used by a device. The parameter file differs from the code specified in the XML tab of the General Settings template because it is not tied to a device configuration profile. There is no limit to the number of parameter files that you can download to a device, one after another.

Use Load Parameter File on the Actions menu of the Dashboard or the Device Details page to download an XML parameter file stored in the database to one or more specified devices or device groups. You can also schedule load parameter file events using Event Manager.

Note: A parameter file must be imported into the database before it can be downloaded to devices.

To load a parameter file to one or more devices:

  1. Navigate to the device or device groups workspace in the Dashboard and select one or more devices or device groups, or to the Device Details page of an individual device.
  2. Select Actions > Load Parameter File.
  3. In the Action Options window, select a file from the Parameter File drop-down list and click tap OK. The file size must be no more than 30 KB and must contain well-formed XML.

To download the contents of a parameter file to the Desktop, select the name of the file in the grid and tap click Download File.
