Download Options

Downloads device configuration information contained in the Cards and Readers template. This option is primarily used for initially configuring devices and is set by default. Do not download all device configuration data on a regular basis.

Pay codes categorize different hours that employees work, and define how to calculate wages for the hours. Pay codes can also be set up to hold calculations of money for bonuses, tips, and similar items. Universal Device Manager supports standard and cascading pay codes, which are used for pay code hours edit, pay code money edit, and pay code move amounts.

Downloads codes that link supervisor comments with supervisor edits of punches, pay codes, work rule transfers, and labor account transfers. The Timekeeping application provides the options in the Comment Code list. Settings for comment codes are established using the Comment Code tab of the Configurable Transactions template.

Downloads a location transfer set that is assigned to devices or a device group. Location transfer sets are set up in the timekeeping system, and then selected as device location transfer sets in the Location Settings tab in the Application Configuration template.

The device location transfer set can also be used to specify default values for location transfer functions. Each device uses only one device transfer set.

Downloads location transfer sets for employees who can perform a location transfer at the device. You can download employee location transfer sets only for home employees. Location transfer sets are assigned to employees in the timekeeping system.

Downloads data that includes lists of templates created by employees who use devices that require biometric validation.

Downloads a list of totals definitions that applies to the device's home employees. Each definition contains the sum of a specific calculation, such as hours worked or sick time earned. Totals definitions are configured using pay codes or accrual codes.

Punch interpretation rules contain information about how devices and host applications react to punches by employees. The rules determine: whether a punch is accepted; the schedule to which the punch applies; and whether the punch is an in-punch or an out-punch.

Downloads the employee's photograph ( InTouch only).

Downloads device-specific rules that associate pay rules with work rules. A single device work rule can then be used at a device to transfer different employees to different work rules. These transfers are based on the employee’s pay rule assignment in the timekeeping system.
