Configure Rotation Schedule

The Rotation Schedule functionality is used for long-term planning and enables organizations to create a rotation schedule based on the needs of a location or group of locations. You can create a Rotation Schedule template in advance and publish the schedule to the system for the specified time span.

When you create a Rotation Schedule template, you specify the length for the rotation and the number of rows needed (one row for each position needed in the rotation). For each row, a position is specified with a job assignment and include a series of shift types for the rotation schedule. Eligible employees are then assigned to the positions so that the shifts in the row are assigned to them when the template is published. The Publish functionality rolls out the Rotation Schedule template to the Schedule Planner to enable Schedulers to prepare the schedule for posting. Any positions without an assigned employee are created as appropriate open shifts in the schedule. For managing long-term absences, rows can be temporarily unassigned so you can specify a temporary replacement.

Configure a custom tile for Rotation Schedule

A tile needs to be configured and added to the home page to access the Rotation Schedule application. Log in as an administrator and perform the following:

  1. From the Main Menu, go to Administration > Application Setup > Common Setup > Custom Tiles.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Enter a Name for the tile. For example, Rotation Schedule.
  4. Enter a Label to display at the top of the tile. You could also use Rotation Schedule here.
  5. For Tile Type, select Embedded Content.
  6. Leave Icon and Content Provider blank.
  7. Enter the URL for the Rotation Schedule server using the format http[s]://servername/mrst/, where servername is the name of the Rotation Schedule Server. This name is provided to you by the Solution Consultant.
Note: This URL is the Tenant Vanity URL, appended with /mrst/. For example, if the provided Tenant URL is https://cloudqa-testing-cfc.stg.mykronos.com, then the value in the URL field, when creating the custom tile, would be https://cloudqa-testing-cfc.stg.mykronos.com/mrst/. As part of the Communicate Tenant Details procedure during Tenant provisioning, it is standard protocol for CloudOps to provide the Tenant Vanity URL and the Seed Admin URL.
  8. Click Save.

Add the tile to the Home page

  2. Select the Rotation Schedule tile.
