Device Setup
Use Device Setup to configure a Gaming device (timeclock). When configuring a Gaming device you can:
- Specify the device's location (gate access type), such as a cafeteria or parking lot.
- Enable or disable the device.
- Configure additional device specific settings, such as:
- The amount of time to keep the door or gate open when an employee uses a Gate access Smart View transaction.
- The punch status for entrance.
- The ability for employees to enter the cafeteria if they have exceeded their meal budget.
- The ability for non-gaming employees to access Gaming gates.
Configure a device
- Within the Gaming application, go to .

Click
New
to add a new device or select an existing device and click Edit . - Enter the Device Id. You can find the Device Id in UDM (in Device Management).
- Enter a Name and a Description for the device.

Select a
Company.
Note: The options for this selection come from the Business Structure type selected in Gaming Configuration. The label for this option matches the name of that Business Structure type, for example Company or Property.

Select the
Gate Access Type. If the device is not a Gate Access device that uses Gate Access
Smart View transactions, then select None.
- None
- Cafeteria
- Parking
- Restricted Area
- On Premises
- Off Premises
- For Number of seconds for open duration, enter the number of seconds the gate or door remains open for entry after the system accepts employee data from the device.

Select
Enabled to enable the device (or clear the option to disable the device). For devices that are used for Special Events, you can also enable and disable directly on the device using the Enable Clock and Disable Clock
Smart View transactions.
Note: The Enabled option shows the status of the device, regardless of where it was enabled (on the device or in the user interface). That is, if this option is not selected and then the device is enabled using the Enable Clock Smart View transaction, then the option is selected.

For
Require employee to be clocked in for access(this option only applies to devices configured with the Cafeteria, Parking, or Restricted Area gate access type):
- When selected, employees cannot access the defined gate or door unless they are punched in.
- When cleared, employees can enter without being punched in.
- Select Allow cafeteria access when over budget to allow employees who have exceeded their meal budget (the number of times they are allowed to access a cafeteria in a day, week, or pay period) access to the cafeteria.
- Select Open gate for non-Gaming Employees to allow gate access for non-gaming employees.
- Click Save.
