Locale Policy

Description of locale policy.

The Locale Policy page contains regional settings (language locale, date format, number format, and currency format) that can be assigned as the tenant default or to individual users. The users’ settings take precedence over the default setting for the tenant default settings. Users see the user interface in the language and regional settings assigned to them in their locale policy. The locale policy is assigned to users in People Information.

Note:
  • Users can change their locale profile by clicking one of the options on the logon screen. The new locale profile is valid only during the logon session.
  • When logging on with a Services or Support account, the account uses the default Locale Policy assigned to the tenant. The only way to change the locale of the Services or Support account is to change the default Locale Policy of the tenant.

Use Locale Policy (Administration > Application Setup > System Configuration > Locale Policy) to view and manage the default locale settings.

The Locale Policy page displays the locales that can be accessed. From here, you can:

  • View the default locale policy for your tenant
  • Select Selectable on Logon Page if users can select the language on the system logon page. If you do not want the language to be available when users log on, clear the button.

First Day Of Week — This setting controls the first day of a displayed week in places that do not have an individual configuration point. In these cases, the calendar is displayed based on the locale. For example, the first day of the week for the en_US locale is Sunday and for the first day of the week for the en_UK locale is Monday.

Other components may be configured separately. For example, Schedule Planner uses the Schedule Period, which you can customize individually.

    Select from the following:

    • Sunday
    • Monday
    • Tuesday
    • Wednesday
    • Thursday
    • Friday
    • Saturday

Display Week Number — Select Yes to display the week numbers that correspond to the calendar weeks. By default, this setting is disabled.

When this setting is enabled, everyone who is assigned to the locale policy can see the week numbers displayed in the UI.

    Note:
    • The week numbers are based on the ISO 8601 standard calendar.
    • If a day other than Sunday is selected in the First Day of Week setting, ensure that the same day is configured for all other calendars (such as ESS Calendar and Forecast Category Attributes) in order for the correct week numbers to display.

The following areas in the UI display the week numbers:

    • Date picker and Date range calendars — In a column to the left of the calendar
