Lock or unlock shifts

Lock shifts to protect them from being edited or deleted. Locking disables most actions in the call outs for the shifts and most Quick Actions. You cannot lock or unlock shifts on signed-off or locked days. A locked shift looks like this:



Lock days to prevent adding, deleting or modifying items on that day. A locked day looks like this:



Lock or unlock a shift or a day for an employee

  1. Right-click Tap the shift or the cell for a specific date and employee. The glance opens.
  2. Click Tap More Actions and then select Lock or Unlock .
  3. Click Save .

Lock or unlock one or more unrelated shifts

The Lock / Unlock Quick Action is particularly well suited to locking or unlocking a number of unrelated shifts.

  1. Click Tap Quick Actions to open the Quick Actions action bar.
  2. Click Tap Lock/Unlock lock or unlock on the Quick Actions action bar.
  3. If the shift is unlocked, the action locks it. If it is locked, the action unlocks it.
  4. Repeat step 3 for as many shifts as required.
  5. To deactivate the Quick Action, click Lock/Unlock .

Lock or unlock a range of shifts or days

To lock or unlock all shifts or all days in a date range for one or more employees:

  1. Select one of the following methods to open the glance for the employee or employees:
    • Right-click one employee.
    • Tap one employee.
    • Select the check box for multiple employees (or use Control-click or shift-click to select multiple employees) then right-click one of them.
    • Tap the check box for multiple employees, then tap one of the selected employees
  2. Click Tap Lock or Unlock in the glance.
  3. In the Lock or Unlock slider:
    Note: If one employee is selected, the employee's job displays in the slider. If the employee has multiple assignments, the employee's default assignment displays. No job or assignment information displays if multiple employees are selected.

    An employee's default assignment is the highest ranked assignment that you have access to through your organizational set in your Employee Group and based on the selected location.

    1. In Apply to, select Shift or Days.
    2. Define a date range to lock or unlock: Enter or select a Start Date and an End Date within the loaded period.
    3. Click Tap Apply.
