Insert a Shift Transfer

Note: You cannot edit shifts on signed-off or locked days.

You can transfer employees to work under different business structure jobs, work rules, payer cost centers, or labor categories.

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Right-click one employee, a schedule group, or a set of employment terms.
    • Pre-select a unique set of employees using Shift-select or Control-select, then right-click one of the selected employees.
  2. In the Employee glance, select Insert Shift Transfer .
Warning: Insert a shift transfer only for shifts that have two or fewer segments because the transfer replaces all segments that follow, including breaks.

For multiple assignments employees: If one employee is selected, the employee's default assignment is displayed at the top of the Insert Shift Transfer panel. An employee's default assignment is the highest ranked assignment that you have access to through your organizational set in your Employee Group and based on the selected location.

The shift that the transfer is applied to is based on the selected date and time. The existing assignment for the shift is used and cannot be changed.

  3. Select an Effective Date during the period of the schedule currently loaded.
  4. Enter the Start and End Time using standard time-of-day format. The maximum length of a shift is 24 hours.
  5. Select a transfer from the Transfer menu.
Note: If the menu does not include the transfer you want, you can define the transfer. Click More at the bottom of the menu to open the Transfer panel. See Transfer a shift for more information.

Depending on your access rights, the jobs that display when you select Add Business Structure in the Transfer panel may only be employee-centric organizational jobs. These are the jobs that are included in the employee's transfer set, any additional jobs specified in the Manager Additions (configured in People Information), and the employee's primary job. This ensures that you select a job that is applicable for the employee.

Note: If you selected multiple employees, the list of available jobs that displays are those that are included in the job transfer set of the first selected employee and any additional jobs specified in the Manager Additions. If you choose a job that is not in a selected employee’s job transfer set or Manager Additions, that employee is not transferred.
  6. Click Tap Apply.
