Access activity event data

This section explains how to monitor activities, view activity status, and view employee and event data using data views or reports.

View activity status

  1. Select Application Setup > Activities Setup > Activities.
    To find an activity, use an activity query or search by activity name.
  2. Select the appropriated activity or work order.
  3. Select Edit or select Tree View, select the activity or sub-activity and then select Edit.

Examples

To use an activity query, select a query from the drop-down list.

To search by activity name, enter text or wildcard characters in the Activity Name field. You can use the query and name field together to filter the list of activities further. For example:

What it finds

Act1/1012/Shop

The level 3 activity with that exact name if it satisfies all other conditions of the activity query.

Act?/10*

All level 2 activities that satisfy all conditions in the query and all of the following name criteria:

  • Are associated with level 1 activities whose names contain four characters and begin with “Act”.
  • Have names that begin with “10”
Note: When searching for an activity via a form or on a clock, you can enter the activity event name or work order number directly (without formatting as described in the table above).

View Activities employee and event data

You can view employee and event data using Dataviews or reports.

View Activities data using Dataviews and Reports

Activities Dataviews can be leveraged when using reports. Managers can view Activities dataviews by navigating to Dataviews & Reports > Dataview Library > Activities.

  • For information on configuring and using dataviews, navigate to Dataviews & reports > Dataviews in the online help or use the Help Search feature.
  • For information on configuring and using reports, navigate to Dataviews & reports > Reports in the online help or use the Help Search feature.
    • The are no pre-defined activity reports. All activity reports must be created before use. See the Reports help for more information.
  • Barcode reports are created through service engagements. You cannot create a barcode report through the reporting web studio, but you can request to have barcode reports created and uploaded to your tenant. For more information and to request a barcode report, contact your UKG Representative.

Activities Dataviews

The following table lists all of the available Activities dataviews:

Data View

Description

Activity Span Start Date Time

Contains the start date and time for this activity time span.

Activity Span End Date Time

Contains the end date and time for this activity time span.

Activity Span Start Time Zone ID

Contains a five-digit unique number that identifies the time zone for the start time of this activity time span.

Activity Span End Time Zone ID

Contains a five-digit unique number that identifies the time zone for the end time for this activity time span.

Has Work In Progress

Determines whether the activity currently has work in progress (0-Yes, 1-No)

Duration Hours

Contains the duration hours between the activity span start time and activity span end time.

Deducted Hours

Contains the number of hours deducted from the span for unpaid meals and breaks.

Allocated Hours

Contains the amount of time charged to the span. Allocated seconds are derived by subtracting the Rounded Start Time from Rounded Stop Time and weighting the outcome against other concurrent spans.

Money Amount

Contains the money amount for the span.

Duration in Days

Contains the duration of the span in days.

Adjusted Start Date Time

Contains the adjusted date and time that the activity time span started.

Adjusted End Date Time

Contains the adjusted date and time that the activity time span started.

Rounded Start Time Zone ID

Contains a five-digit unique number that identifies the time zone for the rounded start time of this activity time span.

Rounded End Time Zone ID

Contains a five-digit unique number that identifies the time zone for the rounded end time of this activity time span.

Job Transfer Indicator

Indicates if the activity time span has an associated org job transfer.

Workrule Transfer Indicator

Indicates if the activity time span has an associated work rule transfer.

Labor Category Transfer Indicator

Indicates if the activity time span has an associated labor category transfer.

Apply Start Date

Contains the date and time at which the activity start was applied.

Apply End Date

Contains the date and time at which the activity end was applied.

Is Activity Span Orphan

Indicates whether this time span is orphaned due to the lack of corresponding time and attendance data (0-Not orphaned, 1-Orphaned)

Is Span Concurrent

Indicates if the employee is working on multiple activities in concurrent spans.

Work Item ID

Contains a unique number that identifies the work item.

Activity Processed Segment ID

Contains a unique number that identifies the activity segment.

Activity Span Text Result

Contains activity span results for a text field definition used in the form

Activity Span Numeric Result

Contains activity span results for a numeric field definition used in the form.

Activity Span Decimal Result

Contains activity span results for a decimal field definition used in the form.

Activity Span Datetime Result

Contains activity span results for a datetime field definition used in the form.

Activity Span Time Result

Contains activity span results for a time field definition used in the form.

Activity Span Result Code Name

Contains activity span result code names for a field defintion used in the form.

Activity Span Result Code Description

Contains activity span result code description for a field defintion used in the form.

Activity Start Time

Contains the start date and time for this activity.

Activity End Time

Contains the end date and time for this activity.

Activity Start Time Zone ID

Contains a five-digit unique number that identifies the time zone for the start time of this activity.

Activity End Time Zone ID

Contains a five-digit unique number that identifies the time zone for the end time of this activity.

Standard Hours

Specifies the standard time it takes to complete the standard quantity for this activity. This information assists supervisors in measuring actual time to complete the activity versus standard (or expected) time to complete the activity.

Standard Quantity

Contains the expected quantity to be completed during the standard hour.

Standard Rate Per Hour

Contains the standard rate per hour to use for this activity.

Standard Labor Cost

Specifies the total standard labor cost required to complete this activity.

Standard Seconds

Specifies the standard time, in seconds, that it takes to complete this activity.

Direct Switch

Determines whether the time associated with this activity is indirect or direct. Direct time is time that directly impacts the production of a good or the rendering of a service. (0 = Indirect 1 = Direct)

Activity Transaction Form Code

Contains a unique alphanumeric code that identifies the form.

Contains a short description of the form.

Type of Activity Transaction Form

Name or short description for the Activity Transaction Type

Unit Name

Contains the name of this unit.

Unit Description

Contains a description of this unit.

Rounded Start Date Time

Contains the adjusted date and time that the activity time span started.

Rounded End Date Time

Contains the adjusted date and time that the activity time span ended.

Activity Span Start Time Zone ID

Contains a five-digit unique number that identifies the time zone for the start time of this activity time span.

Activity Span End Time Zone ID

Contains a five-digit unique number that identifies the time zone for the end time for this activity time span.

Apply Date

Contains the apply date.

Paycode Total Activity Hours

Contains the paycode total activity hours.

Paycode Total Activity Wages

Contains the paycode total activity wages.

Paycode Total Activity Days

Contains the paycode total activity days.

Labor Category Transfer Indicator

Indicates if the activity time span has an associated labor category transfer.

Job Transfer Indicator

Indicates if the activity time span has an associated org job transfer.

Workrule Transfer Indicator

Indicates if the activity time span has an associated work rule transfer.

Activity Name

Contains the name of the activity.

Activity Search Name

Column contains the name of the activity, in all uppercase letters for searching.

Activity Description

Contains the description of the activity.

Activity Header ID

Identifies the activity header for this activity.

Parent Activity ID

Identifies the parent activity for this activity.

Activity Level Number

Specifies the activity level number (1-4) for this activity.

Activity Sequence Count

Specifies the sequence for the activities within the activity hierarchy. The sequence starts over with 1 for the first activity within each level.

Activity Priority

Indicates when this activity should be worked on in relation to other activities (0-Low, 1-Medium, 2-High, 3-Urgent)

Weighting Value Amount

Contains the value to use if the hours allocation method specified in the HRSALLOCTYPEID column is Weighting Factor.

Labor Allocation Method

Identifies how the system distributes hours among team members logged on to an activity concurrently (0-Even allocation, 1-Hours based allocation)

Cell Quantity Rounding Count

Contains the number of decimal places (0-4) used to round quantities when allocating quantities among team members.

Result Required Switch

Determines whether results are required or optional for this activity (0-Required, 1-Optional).

Received Variance Over Percent

Specifies the allowable percentage by which the quantity completed may be more than the quantity received when completing quantities for the activity.

Received Variance Under Percent

Specifies the allowable percentage by which the quantity completed may be less than the quantity received when completing quantities for the activity.

Required Variance Over Percent

Specifies the allowable percentage by which the quantity received may be more than the quantity required when completing quantities for the activity.

Required Variance Under Percent

Specifies the allowable percentage by which the quantity received may be less than the quantity required when completing quantities for the activity.

Required Quantity

Contains the number of completed items necessary for this activity.

Minimum Complete Hours

Contains the minimum length of time, in hours, to complete this activity.

Maximum Complete Hours

Contains the maximum length of time, in hours, to complete this activity.

Scheduled Start Date Time

Contains the date and time that this activity is intended to begin.

Scheduled Complete Date Time

Contains the date and time that this activity is intended to end.

Actual Start Date Time

Contains the first date and time that an employee submits an Activity Start form for this activity.

Actual Complete Date Time

Contains the date and time that an employee submits an Activity End form with a completion status of Complete for this activity.

Revised Start Date Time

Contains the new start date if the Scheduled Start Date changes.

Revised Complete Date Time

Contains the new completion date if the Scheduled Completion Date changes.

Scrapped Quantity

Contains the total current quantity reported as scrapped for this activity.

Completed Quantity

Contains the total current quantity reported as complete for this activity.

Completed Percent

Contains the percent reported as complete for this activity.

Reworked Quantity

Contains the total current quantity reported as reworked for this activity.

Received Quantity

Contains the total current quantity received for this activity.

Moved Quantity

Contains the quantity moved to the activity from a previous activity.

Default Activity Switch

Indicates if this activity can be used as a default activity, idle time activity, or meal activity.

Activities Default 1 Text

Contains the value to use as the default for custom data collection.

Activities Default 2 Text

Contains the value to use as the default for custom data collection.

Activities Default 3 Text

Contains the value to use as the default for custom data collection.

Activities Default 4 Text

Contains the value to use as the default for custom data collection.

Status Update Date Time

Contains the date and time that any statuses associated with this activity were modified.

Minimum Duration

Controls the lower limit of durations in seconds.

Maximum Duration

Controls the higher limit of durations in seconds.

Activity Process Type

Identifies the type of process for this activity (0-Run, 1-Setup, 2-Rework)

Activity Hours Allocation Method

Identifies how the system divides hours among activities when an employee is logged on to multiple activities concurrently.

Completion Status

Identifies the current status of the activity (0-Not Started, 1-Incomplete, 2-Complete, 3-Cancelled)

Held Status

Identifies the current held status of the activity (0-never held or released, 1-on hold, 2-released)

Activity Unit of Measure

Identifies the unit of measure for this activity.

Executed by Person Number

Identifies the person who executed the punch.

Executed by Person Badge Number

Contains the badge number used to execute this punch.

Badge Number

Contains the badge number of the employee this reported activity is for.

Device Number

Identifies the device on which this punch was executed.

Server Name

Identifies the server where the punch was originally saved.

Web IP Number

Identifies the IP address of the clock that generated the punch.

Punch Status

Identifies the punch status (0-initial, 1-Invalid, 2-Completed, 3-Error)

Message Text

Contains any message for this punch, including errors.

Time Zone

Contains a six-digit number that identifies the time zone associated with this punch.

Created Date

Contains the date and time that this row was created.

Effective Date

Contains the date and time that this punch takes effect.

Update Date

Contains a time stamp that specifies the date and time that this row was created or modified.

Activity Transaction Form Code

Contains a unique alphanumeric code that identifies the form.

Activity Transaction Form Description

Contains a short description of the form.

Type Of Activity Transaction Form

Name or short description for the Activity Transaction Type.

You can view activity data for one or more employees in a pre-defined or custom data view. Data views can be configured to include Activities and Timekeeping columns.

Note: Display always shows the actual Effective Date Range configuration for defaults, regardless of the date range selected in a dataview.

Idle time activities, and their percentage allocations, are displayed in the Employee Dataview > Idle Activity Override column as a semi-colon separated string.
