Multi-factor Authentication

Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) provides added security by requiring users to enter a supplied code to verify that they are who they say they are.

The code “validates” the user for a period of time set by the system administrator. When the period expires, the user will be required to re-authenticate.

If your organization uses Multi-factor Authentication, there are three methods that can be used to retrieve the code:

  • Email - code sent to the user's email.

  • SMS - code sent to the user through text message.

  • Token - code provided by a password authenticator. This method requires users to have an authenticator installed on their device.
