Devices

Device Information

  • Badge Number, Start Date, Start Time, End Date, End Time
    • If the site uses a data collection device, the length of the badge number must meet the device’s requirements.
    • When employees are terminated, badge numbers are automatically released for reassignment at the end of the current pay period.
    • When reassigning a badge number, change the number and effective date on the person to whom it is currently assigned before reassigning it to another person.
  • Device Group— Represents all timekeeping devices that the employee can access. If an employee no longer requires a badge assignment, select <None> as the Device Group.
  • Brazil Device Group— Brazil devices that the employee can access.

Expire an active badge

  1. Go to Maintenance > People Information, and then expand Devices > Device Information.
  2. Click Tap Expire the active badge.

A <None> row is added to the table with the current date and time.

  3. Click Tap Save .

The <None> row is removed from the table and the effective date and time for the expired badge are updated.

Biometrics

Use the Biometrics page to designate employees who must enroll for Finger Scan Biometrics, Face Biometrics, or both.

  • Select Finger Scan Biometric Employee, Face Biometric Employee, or both to indicate that the employee is required to enroll before performing transactions that are configured to enforce biometric verification. If you do not select either of these check boxes, the employee can still enroll at a device that is configured for either finger scan or face biometric enrollment.

Note: If a device is not configured to enforce biometric verification, an employee who is designated for enrollment can perform transactions without being prompted for verification or using identification. After the employee is enrolled, the device prompts for biometric verification or the employee can use biometric identification when performing transactions. The Finger Scan Biometric Employee and Face Biometric Employee check boxes enable you to track the number of employees who must be enrolled against the number of employees who are enrolled. You can view this information in the Biometric Status report.
  • The Finger Scan Consent Status and Face Consent Status fields indicate if the employee has provided biometric consent after enrollment.

  • The Finger Scan Enrollment Status and Face Enrollment Status fields display an employee’s biometric enrollment status. If an employee has a template for verification or identification, the status reads Enrolled. If the employee has no templates, the status reads Not Enrolled.

  • You can also use the Biometrics page to view an employee’s Biometric Verification and Biometric Identification enrollment information:
    • If an employee is enrolled, the system displays information about the enrollment type: Verification, Identification, or Identification with Badge ID.
    • UKG Touch ID Templates — Verification templates appear in the Verification table; Identification templates appear in the Identification table
    • UKG Touch ID PlusTemplates — All UKG Touch ID Plustemplates appear in the Verification table.
    • UKG Touch ID PlusTemplates with verification threshold of High are Identificationtemplates and can be used for Identification, Verification, or Identification with Badge ID.
    • UKG Touch ID PlusPlus Templates with verification threshold of Normal, Low, or None are not Identification templates and can only be used for Verificationor Identification with Badge ID.
    • Details displayed for Touch Free ID can be found under Face Biometric Enrollment: Consent Date, Enrollment Date, Location, Verification Threshold, Quality Score, and Face Consent Form.
    • You can enroll an employee for Identification only at a UKG InTouch device.
    • If you have a combination of data collection devices, you can enroll an employee for Verification at a Series 4000, and Identification at an UKG InTouch. In this scenario, both sections display the employee’s enrollment information.
Note: Biometric Templates are automatically deleted upon changing an employee's status to terminated.
Note: Biometric Templates can be deleted from within the Person Record.

Verification and Identification

The Biometrics system supports verificationon Kronos 4500Series 4000 and UKG InTouch devices. If biometric employees are enrolled for verification, and they swipe their badge or enter their ID, the device prompts them to verify the transaction, and place their finger on the UKG Touch ID or UKG Touch ID Plusbiometric sensor.

The Biometrics system supports identification on UKG InTouch devices. Employees who are enrolled for biometric identification place their finger on the UKG Touch ID or UKG Touch ID Plussensor to identify for a transaction, without swiping a badge or keying in a badge ID.

Employees authorized to configure devices can:

  • Remove biometric data (also known as “unenrolling” the employee).
  • Modify the threshold of an enrollment template.

The Biometrics system supports identification with badge ID on UKG InTouch devices. Employees who are enrolled for identification with badge ID swipe a badge or key in a badge number, and when prompted place their finger on the UKG Touch ID or UKG Touch ID Plussensor to identify for transactions on UKG InTouch devices that are configured for identification.

  • View biometric details for the primary and secondary fingers that were used for enrollment. Details include the name, date, location of enrollment, and the Verification Threshold. Use the same threshold value for the primary and secondary finger at enrollment or if you change the values after enrollment.

The threshold value determines how closely the employee's finger scan must match the stored template.

For Biometric verification and identification with badge ID, this threshold is set to Normal, Low, or None. To change the threshold, click the down-arrow and select another threshold.

For Biometric identification, device management sets the threshold to High. You cannot modify this value for Type 1 templates ( UKG Touch ID). If you modify this value for Type 2 templates ( UKG Touch ID Plus) it changes the template from identification and verification to verification only.

  • View the Content and Quality score — Numeric values that represent the content and quality of the employee’s enrollment.
  • View the template type—The biometric sensor supported for this enrollment. The following template types are supported:
    • Type 1: Supports the UKG Touch ID sensor on UKG InTouch and Series 4000 devices. Threshold values can be Normal, Low, or None.
    • Type 2: Supports the UKG Touch ID Plussensor for UKG InTouch devices. You can modify the Type 2 threshold to any value. However, using a value other than High for the threshold means it cannot be used for Identification. To resume using Type 2 for Identification, restore the value to High.

For best results, do not raise the threshold higher than the initial threshold that was assigned by the device during enrollment. For example if the threshold at the time of enrollment was Normal, do not change it to High in People Information.

TeleTime IP

Identify a person as a telephony user and assign a TeleTime IP user profile to that person. Timekeeping data related to this person will only be exchanged between the timekeeping and telephony systems if a person is designated as a TeleTime IP employee on this page. To do so, and enable these attributes for assignment, select the TeleTime IP Employee check box and select a profile from the TeleTime IP User Profile drop-down list.

This page also allows you to specify a TeleTime IP ID for the employee. The TeleTime IP ID can be selected as the ID with which employees log into the TeleTime IP server. The security type is defined in the g lobal.wivr.useridtype system setting. It can set to one of the following for all TeleTime IP employees of the application:

  • Employee ID, as assigned in the People Information > Employee Information page.
  • Badge ID, as assigned in the People Information > Devices > Device Information page
  • TeleTime IP ID, which can be assigned on the People Information > Devices > TeleTime IP page if global.wivr.useridtype is set to TeleTime IP ID.

When you are working in People Information in Duplicate mode, all fields are duplicated, except the password change check box and the value of the Security Type option. These fields require new values for this person.
