An overview of the Data Management section.

The Data Management section includes the Locations page which allows the organizational hierarchy to be populated with data including the attributes related to the nodes in the hierarchy. The Locations sub-pages allow you to configure additional aspects of locations.

Manage location types

How to manage location types.

The Locations page allows you to view your organizations and location count by location type. Each location type represents an organization. The list displays the location type, location count and available actions for each level of the hierarchy.

Note: Depending on your access rights,you may be able to only view and not edit Location details.
To access the Locations page, select Data Management > Locations. Data Management / Locations appears at the top of the Locations page. The system presents a list of the location types.

For each location type, you can:

  • Import Locations - Select Import Locations and browse to the appropriate file on your system. Select OK.
  • Export Locations - Select Export Locations. A message appears indicating the export is in process. To view and download the extracted file, go to the Notifications page.

    Tip: To export all of the locations from the system, make no selections in the Export Options pop-up and select Export.

  • Import Hierarchies - Select Import Hierarchies and browse to the appropriate file on your system.Select OK
  • Export Hierarchies - Select Export Hierarchies. A message appears indicating the export is in process. To view and download the extracted file, go to the Notifications page.

Work with Locations

How to work with locations.

On the Locations page, select Locations in the appropriate location type. The system presents the list of locations associated with each location type.

Tip: The next page displays breadcrumbs to indicate the location type to which the list of locations is assigned. For example, if you select Locations in the Site location type, the breadcrumbs say "Data Management / Locations / Site".

From this page, you can:

  • Import location properties - Select Import properties and browse to the appropriate file on your system. Select Save.
  • Export location properties - Select Export Properties . A message appears indicating the export is in process. To view and download the extracted file, go to the Notifications page.
  • Add a location.
    1. To create a new location, select Add Location.

    2. Enter a name and location number.

    3. Select location start and end dates (optional).

    4. Select a color to be used in dashboard charts with a single series grouped by location.

    5. Select Save.

  • Filter the list of locations - From the Location filter, select the appropriate location. Then, from Location Number, select the appropriate number. The list of location numbers are dynamically dependent on the Location filter selection.
  • Use icons next to each location to:
    • Copy the location - Select and edit the information in the Location Form pop-up. Select Save.

    • Edit the location - Select and edit the information in the Location Form pop-up. Select Save.

Properties

Steps for editing properties for each level of the location hierarchy.

Properties >

  1. Click Properties in the Actions column. The list of properties appears.
  2. Set the start date for the start of the effective date period.
  3. To make edits to each property, expand the content for the appropriate property.
  4. Click in the Value fields for each property name to edit the values.
  5. Click Save in each section.

Add a value

Steps for adding a value to an attribute.

To add a value, select Add Value. Select a group and attribute for the selected group. Select an effective date and select Save. The newly created attribute appears in the list.

Location hierarchy

Steps for editing the location hierarchy.

Edit the location hierarchy for each location. The Location Hierarchy page allows you to view and edit the location hierarchy for each location at the location level. To view or edit the location hierarchy, perform these steps:

  1. In the row of the appropriate location, select Location Hierarchy.

  2. On the Location Hierarchy page, expand the appropriate hierarchy levels and make the appropriate selections.

  3. Select Save.
