UKG Pro Workforce Management Data Hub Configuration Portal
Data Hub Configuration Portal is a tool for Data Hub administrators to:
- Monitor pipeline and wrapper performance summary information. See Performance Summaries.
- View pipeline and wrapper job history details. See Job History - Pipelines and Job History - Wrappers.
- Audit the history of configuration changes made on the tenant. See Audit History.
- Configure pipeline settings. See Pipeline Settings.
- Set up mappings for paycodes A category of time or money that employees earn, for example, Regular Hours, Bonus, or Sick., location types, and custom drivers. See Configure Data Hub Mappings. To map paycodes in bulk, see Paycode Mapping Bulk Update. To upload your fiscal calendar in bulk, see Fiscal Calendar Bulk Update.
- Schedule wrappers to run your pipeline jobs or run wrapper jobs on-demand based on how frequently your UKG Pro Workforce Management source data changes. See Job Scheduling.
- View the status of regular maintenance jobs. See Maintenance Job Status.
- Add wrapper override profiles. See Wrapper Override Profiles.
- View recent alerts and alert history for mapping and pipeline jobs. Subscribe (via corporate email and BiqQuery) to see when pipelines finished running and get alerted to conditions like pipeline and wrapper failures, GCP account access expiration, and mapping changes. See Alert Management.
When you log in to Data Hub Configuration Portal, the Home page The page that is presented to the user upon login, which contains the tiles that let the user access or navigate to common tasks. opens. The Home page includes panels from which you can see recent job history, upcoming scheduled jobs, recent alerts, and the status of your mappings, pipelines, and job scheduling. Each panel shows the current time zone where the UKG Pro Workforce Management server is located and the time the data in the panel was last updated. To refresh the data in a panel, click.
Navigate from the Home page to see more details about your Data Hub activities. Return to the Home page at any time by clicking the Home icon on the menu bar. The Home page gives access to:
- Recent Job History - Wrapper (1 Day). Jobs that have run in the past day or are currently running. Click a wrapper name to go to the Wrapper Job Details page for that wrapper to see more information and perform actions on the wrapper. Click View All Job History – Wrapper to see history for all wrappers.
- Upcoming Scheduled Jobs (1 Day). Panel that shows all enabled jobs scheduled to run in the next 24 hours, the time and day the job runs, and the projected duration of the job based on the average of time the same job previously ran. If a wrapper job does not have a projected duration, then the job is paused. Click Job Scheduling to view and manage job scheduling.
- Recent Alerts (7 Days). Pipeline and wrapper failures and mapping alerts that have occurred in the last seven days. If UKG Global Support was notified of a failure, it is noted here. Hover over the information icon for more information. Click View All Alert History to go to the Alert History page for more information.
- Monitoring. Links to Monitoring pages, including pipeline and wrapper performance summaries, wrapper and pipeline job history details, and audit history.
- Setup. Click the Setup links to go to the respective pages to review and configure the setup details.
- Displays the current setup status (either Complete or Incomplete) for tenant pipeline settings, mappings, and job schedules.
- Maintenance Job Status will show Success or Failed. Failed indicates potential issues with configuration data sync.
- When you hover over a Status, a message displays more information. For example, if the Paycode Mapping Status is Incomplete, the hover message includes details about which paycodes do not have the Pay Category mapped.
- Pipelines deliver data one way, from UKG Pro Workforce Management to BigQuery. Pipelines cannot be configured to deliver data from BigQuery to UKG Pro Workforce Management.
- While you monitor and run wrappers and pipelines, you cannot add or remove pipelines and wrappers from the Data Hub Configuration Portal. See your Data Hub administrator for help with such customizations.
- Before you use Data Hub Configuration Portal, you should be familiar with the structure and content of your UKG Pro Workforce Management data.
-
When Data Hub is first deployed, paycode mappings are bulk loaded into your Data Hub project. The mappings establish the paycode relationship between UKG Pro Workforce Management and the Data Hub data model in the tenant. Data Hub admins can do this directly in the Configuration Portal. For more information, see Paycode Mapping Bulk Update.
Data Hub also supports the fiscal calendar-based reporting and analysis of your UKG Pro Workforce Management data. Before you can work with your fiscal calendar in the Configuration Portal, you must first import the fiscal calendar data by uploading a CSV file that maps the calendar dates to your fiscal periods. For more information, see Fiscal Calendar.
Note: As an alternative, supply the source paycodes and fiscal calendar and their appropriate mapping values to a UKG Representative in CSV files. The UKG Representative will then bulk load the spreadsheets directly into your GCP Data Hub project during implementation.
- All views, actions, and items in Data Hub Configuration Portal are available to any user logged in to the interface. For example, if you add a new job schedule or alert subscription, it will be viewable by all Portal users. Therefore, before you edit or delete an item, ensure it does not affect others' work.
To get started with Data Hub Configuration Portal, see Get Started with Data Hub Configuration Portal.
- Alerts. Messages generated based on various conditions you select including when there are problems executing pipelines and wrappers or when mappings have been changed outside of the Portal.
- API. The application programming interface (API) that acts as a connection between computers or between computer programs.
- BigQuery. Google Cloud's enterprise data warehouse that enables scalable analysis over petabytes of data and supports querying using ANSI SQL. BigQuery presents data in tables, rows, and columns.
- Custom Drivers. Custom labor drivers used by retail customers as part of the labor forecasting process to generate and manage the schedules of an employee’s hours for labor (non-volume) related work.
- Fiscal Calendars. A fiscal calendar is a single, configurable place to organize symbolic time periods (STP) to match the fiscal calendar and reduce the complexity of resolving date or time ranges for reporting. See Fiscal Calendar.
- Jobs. The execution of a wrapper. Monitor jobs to see the current state of an activity and view its history. For example, from the Job History – Wrapper page, you can view information about how long a successful job ran and the date of the job’s activity.
- Maintenance Job. Job that synchronizes configuration data between UKG Pro Workforce Management and Data Hub. Monitor the status of the maintenance job for insight into when it was successful and when it failed to finish.
- Mapping. A way of establishing relationships between your UKG Pro Workforce Management data and the Data Hub data model and allows Data Hub to properly extract, process, and deliver your data.
- Pipeline. A programmatic process that extracts data from a data source and delivers the data to target tables. Data Hub sources are UKG Pro Workforce Management APIs or detailed tables in BigQuery and the target is BigQuery tables. In general, data is transformed for consumption but not created. See Wrappers and Pipelines.
- Wrapper. A process that automates the execution of one or more pipelines in a logical controlled sequence. See Wrappers and Pipelines
- Wrapper Override Profile. A Data Hub configuration where a profile is created that modifies the execution of a wrapper to add or remove pipelines from the flow or change pipeline settings. These changes are enforced when the profile is applied to a scheduled or on-demand job.
