Alert Management
Alerts are automatically generated when certain Data Hub conditions are met. To ensure you do not miss important alert details, view alert details from Alert History page and schedule alerts to be delivered by your corporate email or BigQuery.
Note: On the Home page The page that is presented to the user upon login, which contains the tiles that let the user access or navigate to common tasks., the Recent Alerts panel shows all alerts from the past seven days. Navigate to the Alert History page to view alerts for a range of days. For example, you can filter the view to show only alerts for the past 24 hours or to include the past 500 days.
Alerts are generated when the following conditions occur:
- There is an unexpected Data Hub event or error that may require your attention. Alerts give insight into problems that have occurred, including the cause of the problem, the data involved, any uncompleted actions due to the problem, a unique alert code, and recommended solutions. When a pipeline failure occurs due to internal technical issues,UKG Global Support is automatically notified with the alert details and a case is opened. This allows crucial error conditions to be addressed more efficiently.
- Wrappers and pipelines finish running. Alerts give insight into the exact time pipelines finished running and whether pipelines and wrappers finished successfully. When you schedule an alert, you select the pipelines or wrappers you want to monitor.
- Wrapper failure alerts include information that allows you to differentiate your scheduled wrapper jobs. For example, note the failed wrapper job name to determine the impact to your downstream processes.
There are four categories of alerts:
- Maintenance: Generated when there are issues with nightly configuration maintenance jobs, tenant upgrades, or mapping synchronizing with BigQuery. Also when a user's account access has expired.
- Mapping alerts: Generated when a mapping has changed outside the Data Hub Configuration Portal. For example, if a new paycode A category of time or money that employees earn, for example, Regular Hours, Bonus, or Sick., business location, or custom driver was added to or deleted from the data in the tenant and requires mapping changes.
- Pipeline: Generated for successful pipeline execution, when there are pipeline problems during wrapper execution, when the pipeline has a status of already running, or when Data Hub user account authentication to UKG Pro Workforce Management fails. Note the following:
- The alert message tells you which pipeline (including custom pipelines) and wrapper are affected and when the alert happened.
- Other available information for the specified sub category is included, such as the time a pipeline finished running, crash messages, execution IDs, exception details, and invalid data queries.
- If you extract data from BigQuery and deliver it to your enterprise data warehouse (EDW), verifying pipeline completion helps you better determine when to start your downstream extraction jobs.
- For issues, alerts allow you to troubleshoot the problem before you run the wrapper again.
- Wrapper. Generated when a wrapper has successfully finished running, has failed, or when the wrapper has a status of warning. Indicates the day and time the wrapper job finished and the wrapper job name. Failure alerts include the names of any pipelines that failed, wrapper override profiles for the wrapper run, and the name of the wrapper job.
