My Timecard — project view

The project timecard is used by employees who charge time to projects and/or paycodes instead of entering precise in and out times.

A project is the consolidation of paycode and a transfer. A project always uses the Hours Worked paycode with or without a transfer. The user can also enter a paycode instead of a project. In the timecard, projects appear above the blue line and paycodes appear below the blue line.

If you do not add a transfer, your projects are listed as Home.

If you transfer the project to a different business structure, work rule, cost center, or labor category, the transfer replaces "home" in the project name, for example:

  • ;;CC_Production
  • ;Administration;;; - Development
Note: When viewing the timecard, resizing the browser window is not supported. If you resize your browser window to a width that is less than 768 pixels, then you will need to refresh the browser and the timecard will then display in list view.

Project timecards with assignments

If an employee has more than one assignment, when you add a new project you select the assignment for that project. The assignment name is prefixed to the project name in the timecard's Project column. For example, Assignment1 Home.

Note: If there are days on the project timecard that cannot be edited it could be that the status of an assignment has changed to inactive or the effective date of the assignment has changed and the employee does not have access to edit inactive assignments.

The project timecard grid is organized by project along the left side with columns for each day of the week at the top. Today's column heading is red; the remaining headings are blue. Totals columns for each row are on the right side of the grid, one for the week's total and the other for the timeframe total. Daily totals and your schedule display at the bottom of the timecard. You cannot edit the schedule.

The timecard displays one week across the top of the grid. If the timeframe selected exceeds a week, you can move from week to week. by clicking tapping Previous and Next Regardless of the week displayed, you can return to today by clicking Today

Note: There is no limit to the number of projects used in the visible week. If there are fewer than 10 projects in the overall timeframe, all projects are displayed, even if they are not used in the displayed week. If there are more than 10 projects in the overall timeframe, only projects that are used in the displayed week are listed.
Note: A dark rule separates the grid into to parts. Productive time, such as "time worked" is listed above the line. Non-productive time, such as "sick," or "vacation" is listed below the line.

  • If you hover over a cell in the timecard grid, a tool tip displays data for the cell.
  • When there are multiple exceptions in the same timecard cell, the multiple exception icon displays, but the tool tip lists all of the exceptions, for example: Short Shift, Early Out, Core Hours Violation.

List view

The list view for the project timecard displays each day in the selected timeframe. The days are arranged in a responsive layout that varies depending on the width of the timecard. On a desktop device at maximum width, up to four days are displayed in each row. As the width decreases, the days wrap until there is only one day per row.

The information included for each day includes the schedule, projects and total hours. An Action Required indicator appears if you need to address exceptions . An ellipses indicates that there is more information not visible at this level.

The current timeframe, total for the current timeframe, and an approval status panel are displayed above the list items in a rollup area.

When you select a day, the day detail panel opens. This panel displays timeframe, totals to date, and status legend, as well as project details and exceptions. From here you can access additional panels used to add comments, projects, and transfers.
