Start and stop synchronization

Start and stop the sync from any tab on the People Sync Configurations page.

You can start a partial or full synchronization of the People data. A full re-sync of all employee records can take up to an hour or more depending on the number of employees and your environment. You can also stop a sync that is progress.

Note: You must stop an active sync to make and save any property and field mapping changes. When you stop the sync, this pauses all updates in UKG Pro WFM for any additions or changes to synced data in UKG Pro. Therefore, when you start the sync again after making configuration changes, it is highly recommended that you run a full sync of all employee data to ensure there are no gaps in the data.

Start People data synchronization

Start a partial or full synchronization of the People data.

Note: If the Start Synchronization button is unavailable, either the People sync configuration is incomplete or has an issue, the business structure configurations are not fully in place, or the initial business structure sync has not run. Resolve the issue before you start the sync.

Administration > Application Setup > Integrations Setup > People Sync Configurations

  1. Click Start Synchronization. The Start Synchronization dialog opens.
  2. Select one of the following:
    • Start syncing employee changes moving forward and re-sync all records. This is the default. Recommended when you make universal configuration changes to your People or business structure settings that affect all synced employee records.

    • Start syncing record changes moving forward only. A full re-sync will not be performed now, only field and sync property changes will be automatically re-synced when you click Start Synchronization.

  3. Select I am ready to start the synchronization.
  4. Click Start Synchronization.
  5. To see sync status, review the Synchronization Dashboard. Go to Menu > Maintenance > People Sync Configurations. From this page you can also re-sync one or more employee records. For information, see People Sync Monitoring - Synchronization Dashboard.

Stop People data synchronization

During the active and ongoing sync process, you may need to stop the sync so you can make configuration changes that affect all synced employee records.

Note: You cannot make these changes while an active sync is in progress.

Administration > Application Setup > Integrations Setup > People Sync Configurations

  1. Click Stop Synchronization. The Stop Synchronization dialog opens.
  2. Select I am ready to stop the synchronization.
  3. Click Stop Synchronization.
