Configure the Variance Advisor Tile

How to configure the Variance Advisor smart tile for Healthcare Productivity.

The Variance Advisor smart tile (custom tile) notifies managers of missed goals in productivity and labor budgets so that they investigate and take corrective actions. Healthcare Productivity metrics and reports provide productivity data, but Variance Advisor holds managers accountable for meeting the goals.

Note: A best practice to maintain good system performance is to configure tiles to have short date ranges, few columns, and hyperfinds that contain few work units.

Before you start

Before you start to configure the Variance Advisor tile of Healthcare Productivity.
  1. Assign Licenses for Healthcare Productivity.
  2. Configure access to the tile; see the Configure Access to Healthcare Productivity topic.
  3. Configure Work Units, Configure Work Unit Hyperfinds, and Configure Work Unit Hyperfind Profiles.
  4. Configure Targets for Healthcare Productivity.
  5. Configure the offset from the reference date in the site.healthcareanalytics.referencedate.offset system setting; see the Healthcare Productivity System Settings topic. The default offset is 1 day before today.

Configure the tile

How to configure the Variance Advisor tile of Healthcare Productivity.
  1. Click Tap Main Menu Administration > Time application setup > Common Setup > Custom Tiles.
  2. Create, edit, or remove custom tiles as follows:
    • Click Tap Create . Enter a unique Name.
    • Select a custom tile. Click Tap Edit . Select one of the following:
      • Save changes everywhere that the named entity is used— Save the changes to all installations of the current tile.
      • Save as a new named entity— Save the changes as a new tile
    • Select a custom tile. Click Tap Delete . Click Tap Yes to confirm.
  3. Enter a Label.
  4. In Tile Type, select Embedded Content.
  5. Leave Icon blank.
  6. Leave Content Provider blank.
  7. In URL, enter the uniform resource locator as a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) to the location of the content. The URL must be an absolute path and use HTTPS.
  8. Select Navigation to display navigation details in the bottom-right corner of the tile. Configure the following:
    1. Navigation Type: Select the type of display to show the embedded content. Select one of the following:

      New Tab to open the content in a new browser tab.

      Navigate to display a link to the content.

      Caution: Do not select Pop Up or Slider.
    2. Navigation Menu: Enter a label for the menu.
    3. Navigation Label: Enter a label for the tile.
    4. Navigation URL: Enter the uniform resource locator. Normally, this is the same address as in URL.
  9. Click Tap Save.

Assign the tile

Assign the Variance Advisor custom tiles for Healthcare Productivity to the display profiles and home pages of the people who need to see the tile. Assign the profiles to the people according to their role.

Note: For details about all of the options, refer to the Home Page Management and Display Profiles help topics.
  1. Click Tap Main Menu Administration > Time application setup > Display Preferences > Home Page Management.
  2. Select a profile to update. Click Tap Edit .
  3. In Tiles, select the Variance Advisor tile to add to the profile.
  4. Click Tap Save.
  5. Repeat for other profiles.
  6. Click Tap Main Menu Administration > Time application setup > Display Preferences > Display Profiles.
  7. Assign the Home Page Profile to the person's Display Profiles.
  8. Repeat for other profiles.
