Deactivate a metric

How to deactivate a metric.

You can deactivate any metric (standard or custom) to make it unavailable to the development of KPIs, Dataviews, and reports. (It will not be visible for selection.) Because a deactivated metric is not processed by the domain functions that perform the real-time data loads, deactivating an inessential metric reduces the load on the system. In other words, the metric will no longer be updated with new data.

Deactivating a metric does not remove metric from KPIs, Dataviews, and reports in which it is currently used. You must manually remove it if necessary.

The deactivation of a metric that is currently used in the formula of one or more KPIs will result in the deactivation of both the metric and the KPIs that are using it.

To deactivate a metric:

  1. Open the Main Menu and navigate to Administration > Application Setup.
  2. Navigate to KPI Builder > Metric Definition. A list displays the Name, Description, Short Name, Data Source, Display Format, Precision, Type (STANDARD or CUSTOM), and Status (Enabled or Disabled) of each existing metric. You can sort this list by the contents of any column by clicking tapping the column heading. Clicking Tapping toggles between an alphabetical or reverse alphabetical sort.

You can filter this list by clicking tapping Filter and entering a search string in one or more of the empty cells immediately beneath the column headings.

  3. Highlight one or more metrics that you want to deactivate and click tap Disable . A warning message is displayed indicating the number of associated KPIs that will be disabled when the metric is deactivated.
  4. Click Tap No to abort the deactivation. Click Tap Yes to confirm the deactivation.
Note: Many standard metrics and KPIs are used in various pages, such as the Timecard landing page, the Operational Dashboard, standard Dataviews and reports, as well as others. Disabling the associated metrics and KPIs may result in a feature not working correctly or at all.
