Publishing Scenarios

An overview of the steps involved in publishing scenarios.

The process to publish a scenario to live can be broken up into the following phases.

Phase 1 - The Modeler creates a scenario and shares it with stakeholders.

Description of phase 1 of the scenario publishing process.

  1. Create a scenario and generate iterations with desired output.
  2. Promote the relevant iteration to Live (Edit Iteration > Check Live) This can also be done after the Review phase however, may be beneficial to highlight the iteration that you are proposing to go live with to your scenario reviewers.
  3. Share the scenario for collaboration or review ( Scenario> Actions> > Share> assign permissions to relevant users)
  4. If the scenario is ready for review, change the status to Review (Select Review from the drop down list under Scenario Status)
  5. If there are no reviewers, the following Reviewer phase can be ignored.

Phase 2 - The Reviewer is requested to provide stakeholder review.

Description of phase 2 of the scenario publishing process.

  1. Go to scenario and review iterations. The add comment functionality can support this process if discussion or commentary on the output is required.
  2. After the scenario and relevant iteration is approved, mark the scenario as Approved ( Scenario > Actions> Approve)
  3. To remove approval, go to the ellipsis and select Remove Approval.
  4. After all assigned reviewers have approved the scenario, the status will automatically update to Approved.

Phase 3 - The Modeler publishes the scenario.

Description of phase 3 of the scenario publishing process.

  1. Publish the scenario ( Scenario > Actions> Publish)
  2. If there is already a live scenario for some or all of the scenario dates, an alert will appear advising the user that there is existing live data and publishing the scenario will result in data being overridden for the applicable dates.
  3. Add optional Publish message.
  4. Scenario is now live, referencing the live iteration.
