Work Rule Building Blocks
Work rule building blocks are sets of parameters that control time and attendance functions. For example, the Punch The entries on a timecard that mark the beginning (in-punch) or end (out-punch) of a work interval, such as the beginning of a shift or transfer. Round Rounding is a way to simplify payroll accounting and reporting, and to enforce shift start and end times. Punch rounds divide hours into equal segments of an hour. Rules building block contains punch rounding parameters.
A building block can be used in multiple work rules. For example, if different groups of employees share the same Punch Round rule, use the round rule in the work rule assigned to each group.
