Schedule Deviations
Schedule deviations are special differentials that employees earn when they work before or after their scheduled times, or for shifts that are unscheduled. Define a rule for each situation to specify a different paycode in which to pay each hour type.
Note:
- Schedule deviation rules are one of the elements in paycode distributions. If you use Schedule Deviation rules in a Paycode Distribution, they must be selected in the work rule.
- Schedule Deviation rules are also available in the Processing Order rule to determine whether to process the hour types in an order other than chronologically.
Use the Schedule Deviation Rules page (Administration > Application Setup> Pay Policies > Work Rule Building Blocks > Schedule Deviations) and the following information to set up Schedule Deviation rules.
- Before Shift — Time worked within the early schedule margin and before the start of a shift accumulates as schedule deviation time.
- After Shift — Time worked after the scheduled end of a shift and before the missed-out limit accumulates as schedule deviation time.
- Not Scheduled — If an in-punch does not link to a schedule, the time worked accumulates as scheduled deviation time.
- Requires Approval — Require a manager’s approval for hours worked outside the employee’s scheduled shift.
- Pay As — Select a paycode to use with the Pay As Action.
- Pay As Action — When a paycode is selected in the Pay As column, select the pay as action. For more information, see Simplified timekeeping configuration.
