Schedule Groups
Schedule groups organize employees who share characteristics such as schedules into groups that make their schedules easier to manage. When you create schedule groups, you can assign schedules and schedule entities to all members of the group.
Note: If employees work the same schedule but schedule changes normally affect individual employees rather than groups, use shift patterns rather than schedule groups Assembles employees who share schedules or any other work characteristics..
- From the Main Menu, select Administration > Application Setup > Scheduler Setup > Schedule Groups.
- Click New or select a schedule group and click EditDuplicate.
- Enter a Group Name.
- As needed, select Allow Schedule Inheritance.
- Click Save & Return.
Note: After you create a group, you cannot change the inheritance setting.
- From the Main Menu, go to Maintenance > People Information.
- In People Information, select Scheduling > Scheduler.
- In the Group Assignment table, select a schedule group and enter a Start Date and End Date.
- If necessary, click Add Row
to add another schedule group. - Click Save.
Note: You can add or delete schedule groups as long as the dates never overlap.
For employees with multiple assignments:
- From the Main Menu, go to Maintenance > People Information.
- In People Information, select Assignments > Multiple Assignments.
- Click Edit
for the assignment that you want to assign a schedule group - On the menu, select Scheduler.
- In the Group Assignment table, select a schedule group and enter a Start Date and End Date.
- If necessary, click Add Row
to add another schedule group. - Click Save.
Note: A particular Schedule Group cannot include more than one of an employee's assignments. However, each of an employee's assignments can be added to one or more Schedule Groups.
Warning: The number of employees in a schedule group significantly impacts system performance. Edits take longer if the group contains many employees. However, the number of schedule groups has little effect on performance.
