Process Models setup page

Note:

To access the Process Models setup page, your Function Access Profile must have the Process Models function access control point set to "Allowed." To do this:

  1. Select Administration > Application Setup from the Main Menu
  2. Select Access Profiles > Function Access Profiles.
  3. Expand Manager -Common Setup, and select any of the following and set them to "Allowed":
    • Process Models
    • Deploy Process Models
    • Create New  Process Models
  4. Click Save and Return.

Business Process An organized flow of activities or tasks that achieves a business goal. An automated business process minimizes the amount of paperwork and manual tasks to complete that process by way of automatic actions, online forms, and automatically generated messages. Models are design templates or graphical representations of Business Processes. The Business Process Models setup page lists all of the default models as well as any custom models that have been created for your organization. From the Process Models setup page, you can interact with Workflow Designer to create, edit, and deploy Process Models.

After a Process Model is deployed, the Business Process, which is the executable form of the Business Process Model, is created. You can deploy a Business Process Model multiple times to create multiple Business Processes.

Note: Configure the pop-up blocker settings in your browser to allow pop-up windows. Otherwise, the Process Model designer does not open.

Click Main Menu  > Administration > Application Setup > Business Process Setup > Process Models.

Although a number of Business Process models are provided by default, you can customize these models or create your own in the Workflow Designer. The resulting Business Processes control API tasks in the application. For more information about designing Business Processes, refer to the Business Processes Developer's Guide.

Note: Each time you edit and save a Business Process Model, you create a new version of that model. You do not overwrite the original Process Model. The version is reflected in the Version column on the Process Models page in UKG Pro Workforce Management.

However, if you open a form using the Referenced form property for a User task in the Workflow Designer Visual Editor, Activiti marks the model as revised, even if you make no changes or discard any changes when exiting the Visual Editor. The Last Updated By column on the Process Models page displays the name of the logged-in user, and the Last Updated column displays the current date to reflect this activity. In this set of circumstances the Version column remains unchanged.

Caution:
  • Allow only qualified personnel who are trained in and experienced with BPMN and Business Processes to design and build Business Process Extensions.
  • Business Processes can access almost any data in the system. To preserve data security and privacy, make sure that only trusted personnel have permissions to create and assign Business Processes, and that they do so in a way that protects data and prevents exposure of data to people who are not privileged to access that data.
  1. Select a model and click tap Copy .
  2. On the Create a copy of Process Model page, enter the name of the copied model and, optionally, enter a description.
  3. Edit the copied model as needed.

When you finish creating a Business Process Model, deploy it as described in Deploy Business Process Models.
