Attendance Patterns
Attendance patterns are events that show repeated, unwanted behavior on consecutive days. For Example:
- Missed time counted as sick that occurs on three consecutive days. An employee enters sick days on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Monday in the timecard.
- Missed non-vacation time that regularly occurs on Monday or Friday
- Early leaves that always occur on the same day of the week
Types of attendance patterns:
- Same Day Events — Patterns that have two or more events occurring on the same day. To assign additional penalties when employees call in sick on Friday, use a Same Day Event pattern that contains Friday and Sick.
- Consolidated Events — Patterns that count attendance events repeated on consecutive days as one event. For example, an employee is sick for three days in a row, but it is considered a single attendance incident rather than three attendance events.
- Event Repeating on Consecutive Days — Patterns that consider a specific number of consecutive occurrences of an event as a single event. These patterns must specify the rules that define the date that the attendance processor recognizes the pattern. For example, to identify when an employee is sick for more than three consecutive days, the system considers each sick day a single attendance event.
- Linked Days — Patterns that have two events occurring across two days. For example, an employee can have an early-out on Friday and a late-in on Monday
