Add comments

Depending on your access rights, you can attach comments and notes to a paycode A category of time or money that employees earn, for example, Regular Hours, Bonus, or Sick. amount or punch The entries on a timecard that mark the beginning (in-punch) or end (out-punch) of a work interval, such as the beginning of a shift or transfer. in the timecard as well as to absences and exceptions. Punches can have multiple comments and comments can have multiple notes.

The way that you add comments differs depending on whether you are using the table view or the list view.

The Comments icon in the punch or paycode cell indicates that a comment was added.

To add a comment to a punch or exception:

  1. Tap the appropriate day.
  2. In the time detail panel, identify a punch or exception and tap More Information .
  3. In the More Actions panel, tap Add Comment .
  4. In the Comments panel:
    1. If there are multiple events for a single action, the Comment On drop-down list appears. Select an event from the list, for example, a day that has an unscheduled punch identifies two events: punch and unscheduled. Tap the down arrow in the Comment On drop-down list and select Punch or Exception.
    2. Select a comment from the Add Comment drop-down list.
    3. (Optional) Enter a note in the Type a Note (optional) box. Tap Add Another Note to add more information. When finished, tap Apply.
  5. Tap Save when finished.
Note:
  • You can change your note after you save it. Depending on your access rights, you may also be able to change notes made by someone else.
  • If a note is added to a paycode in an employee's schedule, the note also displays in the employee's timecard.
