Employee Self-Scheduling
With Self-Scheduling, employees can pick the shifts that they want to work by viewing open shifts
For example, an employee can pick shifts for the month of July, then repeat this schedule for August, September, October, and so on.
- A manager opens a time period during which an employee or employee group can make scheduling requests from their calendar. This is called the submission period, and it is a component of the employee visibility period Defines both the period when employees can submit requests (submission period) and the period when those request can be applied (request period)..
- Employees can view open shifts and pick the shifts they want to work. They can repeat the schedule on a recurring basis or roll the entire schedule ahead by a day at a time.
- The employees might be given priority to choose their schedule according to their seniority or whether they work full or part time.
- A manager can allow employees to see an unposted schedule during their open submission period.
