Hide and display report elements
If you delete an element of a report, the deletion is permanent. If you think you may need the element later, you can hide it and then display it when necessary. Typically, you hide and display table columns, table headers, charts, or images.

- Select Hide/Show Item from the Main Menu.
- Select the items to display. Deselect the items to hide. To hide all items, select Clear.
- Click Tap OK.

When you work with a report that organises data in groups, you can change the report to a summary report by hiding the group details. Hiding details, particularly for large reports, helps you display key information at a glance (also known as a contextual call-out) Provides information and actions in a dialogue box for an item on the screen when the user right-clicks or taps the item..
In a report containing multiple groups, it is sometimes useful to hide the details for a specific group if you do not want to display all the information at the same time.
To hide group details:
- Select and right-click the grouped column whose details you want to hide.
- Select Group> Hide Detail.
To redisplay group details:
- Select and right-click the grouped column.
- Select Group> Show Detail.

Sometimes a report column displays duplicate values in consecutive data rows. When the duplication is unnecessary or makes the report difficult to read, you can suppress consecutive duplicate values in a regular or grouped column. For example, a report that lists customer orders, grouped by customer, shows some data values such as the address, contact information, customer number, and so on, multiple times for every order placed by the customer. You can prevent the duplicate occurrence of these values by moving data rows from the column to the group header.
In addition, as you modify a report, you can collapse groups to display only the column headings and summary data, such as aggregate data rows.
To suppress duplicate values in a column:
- Select and right-click the column containing duplicate values.
- Select Column> Do Not Repeat Values.
To show hidden duplicate values in a column:
- Select and right-click a column that does not repeat duplicate values.
- Select Column> Repeat Values.

- Select and right-click the column with the duplicate values.
- Select Column> Move to Group Header.
- On Move to Group Header, do the following:
- Select the group to which you want to move the data values, if the report contains more than one group.
- Select the header row to which Interactive Viewer should move the data values.
- Repeat this step for each report column for which you want to move data rows to the group header.
- Click Tap OK. The value from the first data row in each group appears in each group header.
