Add, edit or delete a punch (hourly timecard only)
You can add, edit or delete punches The entries on a timecard that mark the beginning (in-punch) or end (out-punch) of a work interval, such as the beginning of a shift or transfer. in the hourly timecard The type of timecard used by employees who punch in and out several times each day.. Depending on your access rights, you can also cancel meal deductions, override a punch, change the time zone, and add comments to existing punches.
Enter or edit a punch
The way that you add a punch differs depending on whether you are using the table view or the list view.

To enter or change a punch, click a cell in the In or Out column, enter the time, then click Save
If you need to add more detail to the punch:
- Right-click a cell in the In or Out column. The Punch Actions glance (also known as a contextual call-out) Provides information and actions in a dialogue box for an item on the screen when the user right-clicks or taps the item. panel opens. If the cell already contains a punch, the glance panel displays the current information about the punch: date, time, override, time zone, exceptions, last edit date and the last person who edited it.
- In the Punch Actions glance panel, click tap Edit
. - In the Punch panel, enter the following information as needed:
- Time (hh:mm)* — You cannot leave this field blank.
- Transfer — Click Tap the arrow
- Override — Select one of the listed overrides.
- Time Zone — Select the applicable time zone.
- Cancel Deductions — Select one of the listed deduction rules.
- Exceptions — If there is an exception in the cell, the exception name is displayed. You cannot edit this.
- Comments — If there is a comment for the cell, the comment is displayed.
- Click Apply.
Note: Punches that cross the day divide Time that defines when one day ends and a new day begins. The day divide is defined in a pay rule. If a shift crosses the day divide, the pay rule defines how the hours are allocated: to the day before, the day after, or to the day on which the worked hour occurred. display in black, along with phantom midnight day-divide punches regardless of the fixed rule. - Select the appropriate day.
- In the time detail panel, add or edit a punch:
- To add a punch, click Add Punch.
- To edit an existing punch, select Punch In or Punch Outand click Edit

- In the Punch panel, enter the following information as needed:

- Click Apply and then click Save.
If your manager needs to approve your edits before they are recorded, your edits do not appear in the timecard after you click tap Save and the following message appears:
Information Your changes have been submitted but will not display until they are approved.
Click Tap View Pending
When your manager acts on your edits, you receive a notification.
- If your manager approves the edits, your edits are visible in your timecard.
- If your manager rejects or changes your edits, your edits are not visible in your timecard.
After you create the punch, you can attach a comment as described in Add comments.
- Tap the appropriate day.
- In the time detail panel you can add or edit a punch:
- To add a punch, tap Add Punch.
- To edit an existing punch, select Punch In or Punch Out, tap Edit

- In the Punch panel, enter the following information as needed:

- Comments — If there is a comment for the cell, the comment is displayed.
- Tap Apply.
Delete a punch
In the table view, select the punch, then click Delete on your keyboard.
In the list view, select a punch from the day detail panel and delete it.
In the day detail panel, select a punch and delete it.
