Edit a custom KPI
- Open the Main Menu
and navigate to Administration > Application Setup. - Navigate to KPI Builder > KPI Definition. A list displays the Name, Description, Short Name, Data Source, Display Format, Precision, Type (STANDARD or CUSTOM), and Status (Enabled or Disabled) of each existing KPI.
To sort this list by the contents click tap any column heading. Click Tap toggles between an alphabetical or reverse alphabetical sort.
To filter this list, click tap Filter
You can condense the table by removing any unpinned columns (columns with a blue heading). Click Tap Column Selection
- Highlight the custom KPI that you want to edit and click tap Edit
- In the Save changes to field, select an option; either to save your edits to the existing KPI ("Everywhere <existing-KPI> used") or to a new KPI.
- If you chose to save your edits to the existing KPI, you can edit the Name, Description, Display Format, and Precision fields. If you chose to save your edits to a new KPI, you can also edit the Short Name field. In either case, you can edit the formula, either directly in the text box, or click tap Build KPI to access the KPI Formula Builder window.
- The KPI Formula builder allows you to construct a KPI formula to replace the existing formula or construct a formula segment that you can append to the existing formula.
- Choose a metric from Select a Metric and click tap Add to Formula. The metric is added to the KPI Formula text box using the correct syntax.
- Choose another metric and click tap Add to Formula. This metric is also added to the KPI Formula text box using the correct syntax.
- In KPI Formula, enter an operator (+, —, *, or /) between each metric or target for the operation that you need to perform.
- Repeat these actions until you have substantially constructed the desired formula or formula segment.
- If you wish to add one or more conditions, see Create a conditional KPI for instructions.
- Click Tap Replace KPI Formula if you wish to replace the existing KPI formula with the one in the text box or Append to KPI Formula if you wish to append the formula segment in the text box to the existing KPI formula. The KPI Formula builder window closes and you are returned to the KPI Definition page.
- If you chose to save your edits to a new KPI, enter a short name for the KPI. The short name is the name of the KPI that is used in the raw syntax of another KPI formula. It can have up to 15 characters. The underscore (_) is the only supported special character.
- Select the display format (NUMBER, PERCENTAGE, CURRENCY, or DURATION). DURATION allows the metric to be displayed based on the user's defined duration display (minutes format or decimal format).
- In Precision, enter the precision for calculations such as the number of decimal points.
- Click Tap Save.
